Major parties meet underway, Regmi not interested

KATHMANDU, FEB 24 - A meeting of the major three political parties has started at the Special Committee for secretariat in New Baneshwor to discuss the formation of an election government under the sitting chief justice.

However, the leaders' arrangement to meet Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi today has been canceled following Regmi refusal. It has been learnt that the chief justice refused to meet the leaders unless the 8-member taskforce formed for the same presents its draft.

Earlier, Regmi had agreed to lead the election government after the prominent leaders proposed for it. However, Regmi has lately been showing reluctance to take the leadership, as some parties have been voicing against it.

 A writ has been filed against the same at the Supreme Court and the office bearers of Nepal Bar Association have also stood against it.
